Pink Garden & Perlina

In the October update I mentioned that I was working on a simplified, downloadable brochure that visitors would be able to either print off or email to friends and family. The PDF has now been uploaded to the Perlina Handmade Jewellery web site.

I am really pleased with the way it’s turned out even though it took me the whole month to put together! It lists all the current items available on the web site, any sold items or pieces that are on sale have been left off so the file size is as small as it can be.

Christmas Deliveries

Looking at Royal Mail’s web site, the last posting date for christmas delivery in the UK using 1st class service is Friday 19th December. International deliveries using airmail service may vary but as a rough guide items need to be posted by 5th December. Please note that delivery before christmas is not guaranteed.

Pink Garden is a web site that I have had for over 4 years. But it only occurred to me the other day to use it to blog about updates for my own handmade jewellery [found at www.perlina.co.uk]. Quick off the mark, aren’t I?

Visitors who subscribe to the Perlina newsletter need not worry as nothing has changed. I have just moved the Perlina news blog over to my personal one so that I only have to maintain one blog instead of both

Newest Additions

These are the newest additions to the Perlina Handmade Jewellery site. I recently took a week off work which gave me the opportunity to go completely mad and just make, make, make! All I need to do is get them photographed and cleaned up, ready for the web site. Many items will be added over the coming weeks so check back often or you might miss something.

Downloadable Catalogue

One last thing. Due to popular demand I’m currently working on a downloadable, simplified catalogue which visitors will be able to print out and email to friends and family.

New site design and update! It has taken me over a month to complete due to various reasons beyond my control =D but the newer, more sleeker jewellery site has finally gone live. I’ve been working in the background on a whole new look and have performed some much needed tweaking which hopefully makes the site much easier to use. Some of the new features include the ability to bookmark items and a currency converter for international customers.

Previous visitors will also notice an improvement with the jewellery pictures. I wasn’t happy with the quality or the greyish backgrounds of the other ones so I invested in some photography equipment and away I went (with the help of my beloved best friend Gaz, who I owe a humongous thank you to). This has also been consuming all my time (the picture taking that is, not Gaz =D) but it has definitely been worth it.

After all the madness, I still managed to make some new pieces. These are the newest additions to the Perlina Handmade Jewellery site. I have a few more to list but I’m currently working on the images for them, they will be added over the next few weeks.

Unfortunately I’m not talking about ‘prince charming’, I wish I was. No, this Prince comes in a rather cute 4 legged, wet nosed form. I celebrated my birthday on New Years eve [yet another year older ] and this puppy was the best present I could have asked for! I have wanted a dog for as long as I can remember so I couldn’t be anymore chuffed!

He is only 8 weeks old but he’s grown a whole lot in just 1 week, check out the little mite:

He’s at that ‘I’m gonna chew everything that moves’ stage, my computer desk was one of his first victims and I swear he thinks my arm is a nice juicy bone. I didn’t even think I was that skinny, he he! I’m really looking forward to when I’ll finally be able to take him out and let him explore the big wide world. I know he’s going to absolutely love it!

Regular visitors to Pink Garden will notice the new face lift. It’s actually a record for me as I’ve managed not to change the layout for an entire year! Usually I’ll get unhappy with the site design after only just a month, but this one is here to stay, for now… He he

I have also decided to start over again and deleted all the old blog posts, except for my very latest rant about Lily Allen [well I had to keep something].

When I had to move my web site away from BlueHost because of their lack of decent service [seriously, don't ever use them], the button exchange was lost. I tried to re-install it but I just kept getting errors so in the end, I had to give up. Well, it’s back! I have given it a whole new look and it works slightly differently than before so that I have much more control over who joins.

Is it just me or is Lily Allen’s constant rants and outbursts about other people in the world of celebrity getting really tediously boring now? At first her absolute ‘honesty’ was actually rather humourous and perhaps a little refreshing, but the girl just doesn’t know when to quit.

She was recently quoted as saying how she doesn’t want to be famous, she just wants to make music. Well Lily, here’s some honest and quite obvious advice for you, shut up and get back in the recording studio where you belong. Stop inflicting your rubbish opinion that nobody could give a rat’s arse about to the world when you know it will guarantee you a weekly place in the national press.
